I.E will NOT uninstall & Outlook Express links will not open. Mozilla only?

Thanks for any help!

Virus %26amp; Malware checks are clean.

Tried to uninstall IE 7, suspecting a problem there - won't open up.

IE 7 says "Copy Error - cannot find ieakmme.chm" (whatever that means) %26amp; when I Run "spuninst" - Access Denied!

I'm using Mozilla Firefox browser, only.

P.C is slow and now, links in Outlook Express won't open anymore.

I'm too new to know what's going on but I followed Registry un-check list of unecessary Start Up programs and find no difference.

I really appreciate any help with this. I can follow very basic instructions and am grateful for any help.

Thanks.

Windows XP SP2, Intel Pentium III, 192 MB of RAM %26amp; 601 MHz.

You can simply if you do not want internet explorer (this option doesn't fully get rid of it off your system though but might help)

Go to the Control Panel then to Add and Remove programs. On the left side there is an icon you can click for windows components. Once you open that you can simply scroll down and uncheck internet explorer etc... then press ok and follow the prompts.

I saw ALL of the related IE 7 files, and did not know what to do with each, or all of them. IE 6 won't install because it says I have a newer version.

Can you please explain further?

Appreciatively,

Ann Report It

Reply:I am having similiar problems and I just installed "the world' browser and Thunderbird e-mail. These are free and don't have all the problems of IE7 and Outlook Express. Hope that this helps.
