Visa and MasterCard are most accepted in Europe.

American Express is not much liked in Europe, and I have never heard about an BMW c.c.

The fee you pay depends on which company or bank you get your card from.

Ask at your bank to see what card they offer and on which conditions but also search Internet and if you have a travel agent who travels in Europe him/her self, ask there, there will be several companies that offer MasterCard or associated cards and some will have better conditions than others.

I find that paying an annual fee is much better than paying interest as soon as you use the card. My card will only charge interest if I fail to pay within 2 months, whereas some card companies do start with charging interest immediately.
