Ok, i have 2 partitions. C: and D:. I want to do a dual boot so i'll probably have to install vista on my D: drive yea?
my question is, i can get a free express upgrade to vista. Can i use that free express upgrade, save it in D: and have dual boot?
or would i need the actual full vista cd?
answers from vista experienced user will be greatly appreciated!
thanks!
Can i dual boot my XP with the free express upgrade to vista or do i need the vista install cd?
an upgrade version of an os usally requires that the original os be on the drive to be upgraded. you could reload your xp to the other partion, then upgrade it to vista, and that would give you a full dual boot system. keep in mind when you upgrade to vista your boot record is changed and you may have some issues if you lose the vista partition.
Reply:you can use the free express upgrade as long as you have a legit copy of xp that is on your computer at the time of install.. yes, you can set up a dual boot.
